During my busy calls on a work day, some days I see him standing behind me.
He waits for me patiently for the call to get over before telling me his query. It may be that either his mom said something or the video on tv is not what he wanted to play.
I sometimes see him standing by my window waiting. Or sometimes I see him at a glance on my video call.
When he cries, I mockingly cry with him till he laughs.
When he does something naughty, I just hug him and tell him not to do that.
On a crazy day in this chaotic world when I look at him, he smiles with his whole heart expecting me to smile back. At that moment, I forget everything around me and I just smile with my whole heart.
There was a strange silence that day. I was looking for him in his toy's place to realize he had traveled to visit his grandparents.
He had reached there and I called to talk to him.
He smiled, spoke for some time, and went on with his toys. He gave the phone to his grandmother. She smiled and looked at me. She was very happy he was around and her daughter was around.
She looked at me and said, thank you and I am so glad her daughter is here to see her. I really wanted to see her but I didn’t want to tell you that. Glad she came, thank you.
I saw a mother waiting to see her daughter. I realized she also wanted to see her daughter just like I want to see my son.
We are all reflections of each other in a maze of mirrors.
I told my wife that you should stay there as much as you feel like. Life is about the sacrifice of happiness for others without them knowing it.
I looked in the mirror and smiled…
